Man dies after shooting in Lawrence, mayor says it wasn't random

LAWRENCE, Mass. — A man has died after apparently being shot in Lawrence.

The District Attorney told FOX25 the reported shooting happened around 4 p.m. in the area of Avon and Trinity Streets in Lawrence.

When police arrived at the location, they found a male with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Lawrence General Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police are still investigating the shooting and have not released the victim’s identity.

In a Facebook post, Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera said the attack was not random.

The suspect remains on the run, and because of that Rivera is urging residents to be careful.
