Man accused of urinating on veterans memorial arrested twice in one day

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A 21-year-old man was arrested twice by Manchester Police on Wednesday.

Just after noon on Wednesday, Manchester Police were patrolling on Elm Street when they saw what they thought was a man urinating on the marble memorial inside Veterans Park.

Police say numerous people were staring and yelling at the man, who was identified as 21-year-old Yeudefeliz Cepeda De La Cruz. As he was taken into custody, police say the people nearby clapped and thanked police.

Officers later learned that Cepeda De La Cruz had active bail conditions issued Wednesday after being charged with simple assault after an altercation with another man. Manchester Police say they had released him a few hours before finding him in the park.

Cepeda De La Cruz will appear in court on Thursday morning.
