• Man accused in clerk shooting charged with aggravated murder

CLEVELAND (AP) - Authorities say a man accused in the fatal shooting of a beverage store clerk in Ohio during an armed robbery has been charged with aggravated murder.

Cleveland Municipal Court records show 18-year-old Andre McKelvey is charged in the fatal shooting of 33-year-old clerk Mohamed Shahin. Cleveland.com reports that police say McKelvey and another suspect stormed the store Feb. 5 and shots were exchanged with Shahin.

Police say Shahin was shot in the head and died at a hospital. McKelvey was shot in the neck.

Police say McKelvey and the other armed suspect fled and McKelvey was apprehended a short time later. Authorities haven't identified the other suspect.

McKelvey was treated at a hospital and charged Sunday. Court records don't show an attorney for the Bedford Heights man.
