Malden Police identify 1 of 2 men who faked heart attack to rob local business

MALDEN, Mass. — Detectives in Malden have identified one of the two men who faked a heart attack at a local business to steal money from the cash register.

Malden Police responded to a local business on Broadway on Saturday for a reported theft. At the scene, officers learned two white men had entered the store together when one of them approached the front counter and allegedly "faked a heart attack."

While one of the men pretended to be in distress, the other man jumped over the counter, stealing cash from the register. Both men fled the scene on foot.

Surveillance videos and photos likely helped police identify one of the two suspects, who now have pending charges against them.

The name of the suspect identified has not been released due to the ongoing investigation.
