WORCESTER, Mass. — Worcester's Kelley Square is known for being one of the state's worst intersections, with one of the highest crash rates in all of Massachusetts. Renovation projects have been in talks for years, but now, the major $17 million project has finally begun.
Yves Pelletier of the Best Driving School has been driving in Worcester all his life. From the expert, take it slow and look both ways, but not everyone listens.
According to a MassDOT audit, in a three-year span, there were 403 accidents at the intersection. Most happen on a Friday, in the afternoon, and the majority happen in dry weather.

One thing that many believe will make the area even better is the PawSox moving to Polar Park, which will be less than a 5-minute walk from the intersection.
A public meeting on the project will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at White Room at the Crompton Collective, 138 Green Street, Worcester.
