Woman killed after being hit by a car in West Yarmouth

WEST YARMOUTH, Mass. — A woman was killed Wednesday night in a Cape Cod town, after being struck by a vehicle, according to police.

The Yarmouth Police and Fire Department responded to Route 28 in West Yarmouth around just before 7:30 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian, identified as Dawn Squires, 56, of Yarmouth, was taken to Cape Cod Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The crash is under investigation by the Yarmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit, with help from the Barnstable Police Department and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
