Two people killed in single-car crash in Raynham

RAYNHAM, Mass. — An older couple was killed after a single-car crash on Friday in Raynham, according to police.

Richard and Mary Bentley, 78 and 80, both of Taunton crashed into a tree near Pleasant Street in Raynham on Friday morning. The car became engulfed in flames.

Prior to first responders’ arrival, police said bystanders who witnessed the crash pulled the driver and passenger out of the car. Firefighters on the scene extinguished the fire.

The two were transported to a nearby hospital. They were both pronounced dead at the hospital.
