1 man killed, another seriously injured in shooting outside Randolph club

RANDOLPH, Mass. — The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office is investigating a double shooting outside of a club in Randolph that left one man dead and another injured on the Fourth of July.

Investigators say the shooting happened in the parking lot of Mojitos Country Club on Mazzeo Drive around 8 p.m.

The men were rushed to a Boston hospital, where 29-year-old Ivanildo Cabral, of Worcester, was pronounced dead, the DA’s office said. The second victim remains hospitalized and is in stable condition.

Police from several surrounding towns responded to the club. Investigators gathered evidence on scene and also spoke with several witnesses.

In a statement, the DA’s office said, " It is believed that the victims excited the club at roughly the same time as the other men and exchanged words with them. Multiple shots were fired following that exchange of words.”

According to the club’s Instagram page, it advertised a pool party for adults and kids from 2-8 p.m. for the holiday. A Boston 25 News crew on scene last night saw several families leaving with young children.

While there is no word of any suspect in custody, police say there is no threat to people who live in the area. If you have any information, Randolph Police are asking you to call 781-963-1212.
