Two Dracut Police cruisers destroyed in suspicious fire

DRACUT, Mass. — Dracut Police are investigating a fire that broke out in their own parking lot. Two police cruisers were destroyed after one was found engulfed in flames.

Around 9 p.m. Wednesday night, Dracut Police were responding to several emergency calls when one of those calls turned out to be a fire in their back parking lot.

Police say one marked cruiser was engulfed flames and another cruiser parked right next to it sustained so much heat damage that it was totaled as well. After the fire was put out, police say a woman, who is a person of interest, was found inside the station. She was immediately taken to the hospital for an evaluation. As of this morning, no arrest has been made.

No one was hurt in this incident. It remains under investigation by both Dracut Police and the state fire marshal’s office.
