Two Boston Police Officers injured after shots fired in Chinatown

BOSTON, Mass. — Three men are facing charges following an officer-involved shooting in Chinatown Monday morning.

Around two o’clock Monday, officers were called to Tyler Street for a report of a person with a gun in a silver SUV. Police say when officers approached it, the SUV smashed into a couple of parked cars.

Police say officers then started shooting at the SUV. There were three people in the vehicle. None were hit by gunfire, but they were all taken into custody and arrested.

Police say a gun was recovered from inside the SUV. They did not say if the suspects fired any shots at officers.

Two officers sustained minor injuries in the incident. Police did not say how they were hurt, but did say they were taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

The alleged driver of the SUV, 22-year-old Ahsan Arty, has been charged with possessing an illegal weapon, operating recklessly and operating with a suspended license. He has been ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing later this month.

Alexander Delarosa, 23, of Jamaica Plain, and Devrae Burns, 22, of Dorchester, are charged with illegal weapons and ammunition possession. A judge set bail at $2,500 for each man, along with curfews and GPS tracking. They are set to return to court May 9.

In addition to a gun, ammunition was found at the scene, according to the Suffolk District Attorney.
