State, local police searching for missing boy near Chicopee River

CHICOPEE, Mass. — State Police are searching for a missing 11-year-old boy who was last seen near the Chicopee River in Chicopee, according to a spokesperson for the Mass. State Police.

That child, who has been identified as 11-year old Aiden Blanchard, was last seen around 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the area of the Chicopee River boat ramp near Medina Street in the town. Blanchard was last seen wearing a red ski jacket, along with black ski pants and black sneakers.

State Police had its Air Wing, Drone Unit, Underwater Recovery Unit, K-9 Unit, as well as patrols and detectives searching for the child on Saturday. Chicopee officials also have police and fire boats looking for Blanchard.

Anyone with information on Blanchard’s whereabouts is asked to call the Chicopee Police Detective Bureau Unit at 413-594-1740.
