South Boston drug control unit conduct search warrant, find firearm and drugs

BOSTON — Officers in South Boston arrested and charged a man with firearm and drug charges after conducting a search warrant.

Tyrone Turner, 40, of Dorchester was arrested as a part of an ongoing drug investigation.

On Saturday, January 18, around 11:15 AM, officers were performing a search warrant in the area of 70 Bowdoin Street, where they recovered 15 plastic bags of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a scale, and drug packaging materials.

Officers also recovered a .22 long rife, 22 rounds of ammo, a lower receiver to a Glock handgun, and $272.

Turner was placed under arrest and charged with:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B

Turner is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
