Shelter-in-place lifted in Manchester, NH after barricaded suspect taken into custody

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A shelter-in-place order was issued for residents in Manchester, New Hampshire, following reports of a suspect who barricaded themselves and a victim inside a residence.

The Manchester Police Department told Boston 25 News officers responded to 81 Bow Street at 6 a.m. Monday. Police received reports of an assault and quickly learned that the suspect barricaded themselves and a victim inside a house.

Authorities say that shortly before 8 a.m., the victim was rescued safely and was sent to a nearby hospital. The condition of their injuries is unknown at this time. At approximately 9 a.m. the suspect was arrested.

A SWAT team was called for assistance, which prompted authorities to issue a shelter-in-place order for those who live on Bow Street and the surrounding area, but that order has since been lifted.

The identity of the suspect and victim have yet to be released. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
