“This act was extremely brazen,” police said in a tweet, citing that the incident happened as homeowners were at home and with guests at the time.
Police described the suspect as “an older heavy set white male” who wore a gray Patriots T-shirt, black “Taylor made” baseball cap, white Nike sneakers and a Boston Red Sox face mask.
Police said the man entered a home through an unlocked front door and stole two pocketbooks.
The suspect was seen leaving the area in what appears to be an older model grey sedan.
The pocketbooks were later found on an adjacent street and were only missing a Lexus key fob and cash.
Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call Sharon Police at 781-784-1587.
