New Hampshire State Trooper memorial vandalized in Portsmouth; police investigating

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Portsmouth Police are investigating after the New Hampshire State Trooper Jesse Sherrill Memorial was vandalized Monday afternoon.

Sherrill was killed in a crash in 2021 while working at the site of an overnight paving project on Interstate 95.

His memorial is located on the Sherburne Road overpass.

The vandalism occurred around 2:00 p.m. and the suspect appears to be a man with a pony tail wearing a denim jacket. The jacket is believed to have a black patch on it and the man is seen driving a black hatchback.
