WESTWOOD, Mass. — Fire officials responded to a structure fire on Weatherbee Drive in Westwood Tuesday morning.
The Westwood Fire Department told Boston 25 firefighters responded to reports at 9:02 a.m., and shortly upon arrival, a second alarm was struck. They added that the fire was knocked down later on at 10:15 a.m.

At 10: 33 a.m., it was announced that one dog perished in the fire, and another dog was rescued. A female resident of the home was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out for smoke inhalation, officials say.
The Westwood Fire Department said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
