Police: Shoplifter caught with thousands of dollars worth of over-the-counter medications

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. — An alleged shoplifter was caught in North Attleboro with thousands of dollars worth of over-the-counter medications, police said.

Namor Clarke, 30, of New York City, was arrested early Wednesday morning after a clerk at a CVS in North Attleboro called 911 to report a robbery, The Sun Chronicle reported.

Clarke allegedly stole more than $11,500 worth of various allergy and over-the-counter medications including Prilosec, Nexium, Zyrtec, and Prevacid from stores in North Attleboro, South Attleboro, and Westerly, Rhode Island.

Clarke was also wanted in Connecticut for a third-degree larceny and in two other states for unrelated crimes, the newspaper reported.

A judge ordered Clarke held without bail during his arraignment Wednesday in Attleboro District Court.
