Police find car stolen from Boston submerged in Stoneham pond

STONEHAM, Mass. — Stoneham Police said they found a car that had been stolen out of Boston submerged in a local pond on Wednesday morning.

Officials say they received a 911 call just before 9 a.m. about a Jeep Wrangler in Doleful Pond.

At the scene, fire and police officials canvassed the area but didn’t find anyone inside the car.

Preliminary investigation shows the car was stolen from Boston, but they say how and when it ended up in the pond remains unclear.

This incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information that could help police is encouraged to contact Stoneham Police or State Police.
