Massachusetts ranked among best states to work in

BOSTON — When it comes to finding a job, Massachusetts has been ranked among the best states to work in, according to a new study.

Researchers at Top Agency analyzed five key indicators of satisfaction and opportunity including job market, compensation and benefits, business friendliness, state economy, and quality of life in their “2022 Best States for a Job Rankings.”

The research showed that Massachusetts ranked as the second best state to find a job with the highest average monthly salary, almost twice the salary of states like West Virginia or Mississippi.

The Bay State was also ranked the most innovative state with the highest number of patents filed per 100,000 population, as well as the highest R&D budget.

Sixty-two percent of residents also have health insurance fully funded by an employer, one-third more than New Mexico, the bottom-ranked state in this category.

Utah was ranked the best state in America to work in. No other New England states ranked inside the top 10.
