Mass. city rolls out new program aimed at curbing catalytic converter thefts

WATERTOWN, Mass — Watertown police are getting creative when it comes to cracking down on the theft of catalytic converters.

Police posted a video on social media saying that their going to to spray paint “property of Watertown police” on catalytic converter in hopes of deterring thieves.

Police say they’re seeing 8-10 thefts per week.

The program is free and drivers can start signing up on the Watertown police Facebook page.
