Man charged with OUI after allegedly crashing into Holbrook Police cruiser

HOLBROOK, Mass. — A Mattapan man is expected to be arraigned Monday in Quincy District Court after he allegedly crashed his car into a Holbrook Police cruiser on Saturday night.

Pierre Deus, 33, was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, operating to endanger, marked lanes violation, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

On Saturday around 10:30 p.m., police and EMS responded to Pond Street in Holbrook for a report of a car accident. When they arrived, Sgt. Daniel Ford saw a black Mercedes sedan with heavy front-end damage and a police cruiser with heavy driver-side damage.

Deus, identified as the driver of the Mercedes, allegedly crossed the double yellow center line into oncoming traffic when he struck the Holbrook Police car.

After an initial investigation, Holbrook Police arrested Deus for being under the influence of alcohol.

The police officer who drove the cruiser was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released. Deus declined medical treatment.
