Male shot in Dorchester Monday afternoon

BOSTON — A male was shot near 348 Bowdoin St. in Dorchester Monday afternoon, Boston Police confirmed to Boston 25 News. A witness told Boston 25 News that two young children were inside the vehicle and appeared to be uninjured.

“They had escorted one man out and two children,” that witness said Monday. “The man looked to be, appeared to be, might’ve been injured. And they took him. And as soon as somebody else came to get the children. The police were holding the kids. Two little small kids.”

“It’s just crazy It’s not even that hot outside and you’re already acting up,” said Aisha Moehamed, who lives nearby. “That’s so sad, hope everybody is okay.”

Police said the sole victim is expected to survive, but people who live nearby said this is happening far too often.

“It’s not like this is the first time. It’s happened early, and I know that sounds really messed up, but yeah we should tell the truth so people can do better, it does happen quite often,” Moehamed said.

Police towed the car away from Bowdoin Street and cleared the scene within an hour. Witnesses said loved ones were on the scene to pick up the kids who had to witness that.

“The family came and got here in time,” the witness said. “They must be local to be able to get here as quick as they did to pick the kids up.”
