Hundreds attend funeral service for US Capitol Officer William Evans in Adams

The Massachusetts State Police announced on Thursday that hundreds of troopers and officers attended the funeral service for 41-year-old U.S. Capitol Police Officer William Evans. The service took place at St. Stanislaus Kostka Chuch in Adams.

This follows after Evans’s body was returned to his hometown in western Mass. for the funeral mass. The burial service will take place at Bellevue Cemetery — where Evans will be buried beside his father, Howard.

The town of Adams announced on Wednesday that Bellevue Cemetery will be closed to the public. Those interested in paying their respects can gather on Park Street in Adams at 1 p.m.
