Everett Police look to identify person of interest in church vandalism

EVERETT, Mass. — Everett Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man they are calling a person of interest after a local church was vandalized.

The man, who is captured on surveillance video, can been seen in that video walking up to a fence at the Zion Baptist Church. He grabs the fence and begins shaking it, then walks away.

Last month, police began investigating vandalism at the church, calling it a hate crime. Officials say a cross was recovered after being ripped from the ground in front of the Zion Baptist Church.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Everett Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit at 617-394-5063.
