EAST BOSTON — A 36-year-old East Boston man has been charged with murder in connection to a fatal stabbing in the neighborhood on Christmas Eve, city police announced Sunday afternoon. That suspect has been identified as Steven Anthony Hatfield.
Just after 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, police were called to 208 Sumner Street in East Boston for reports of a man stabbed. Officials located that man upon arrival and transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Hatfield was arrested the following day and charged with murder. He will be arraigned at a to-be-announced date at East Boston District Court.
