HANSON, Mass. — Firefighters had to free a driver after downed power lines trapped him in his pick-up truck Thursday evening, according to the Hanson Fire Department.
A large fell across Monponsett Street (Route 58) at Briggs Street, bringing down a power pole and wires as well.
The fire department said Route 58 will be closed for an extended period of time while National Grid makes repairs and public works crews get the tree out of the roadway.
Hanson FFs responded to Monponsett St at Briggs St for a large tree down across the road with primary wires and a pole down, trapping the driver of a truck in his vehicle.
