DA: Milford murder victim lived inside storage unit where he was found

MILFORD, Mass. — Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said Thursday that the 54-year-old man found murdered inside a Milford storage unit on Tuesday actually lived inside the unit. The storage unit, located in downtown Milford at 15 Beach St., sits across the street from the Milford Branch of the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

On Tuesday night, DA Early said, a person renting another unit in the same facility made the discovery and called police.

“Someone had access to another unit, there is a space where you can see into the other unit, that’s where the call came in,” Early said.

The murder victim has been identified as Paul T. Weaver of Milford. The DA said Weaver suffered multiple stab wounds.

Mid-day Thursday, a column of Massachusetts State Police investigators marched up Beach Street to the center of Milford where they searched the Upper Charles Trail. The DA would not say if they found a murder weapon.

The storage unit facility sits next to an auto detailing business. Owner Jonathan Campos said he and others were aware that people were living inside the storage unit facility.

“I know one guy in particular that walked by here every day. We don’t know if it was him that passed away. But we know there are a couple of people that live there,” Campos said. “They seemed to be all men.”

DA Early said the investigation is progressing “in a positive direction.” He urged anyone with information to call Milford Police at 508-473-3800 or MA State Police at 508-822-9124.
