Crash in Waltham between MBTA commuter rail train and sidewalk snow plow

WALTHAM, Mass. — Crews in Waltham have responded to a crash between an MBTA Commuter Rail train. Boston 25 is told no one is injured.

The Waltham Fire Department got the first call at around 8:35 a.m. for the accident at the Brandeis/Roberts station on the Fitchburg Line.

Boston 25 is told the train hit an unoccupied sidewalk snow plow.

20 people were on board the train. Waltham Fire say there are no injuries.

The train is currently stopped at the station.

“It’s unclear at this time why the plow truck was on the tracks.” said an MBTA spokesman. “The railroad crossing’s protection system was fully operational and performing as it is designed to. The operator of the plow truck was not inside the vehicle when the train made contact with it.”
