Celtics fans willing to pay hefty Game 7 price to witness history

BOSTON — BOSTON -- Celtics fans went wild outside TD Garden Saturday night after an epic Game 6 win in Miami.

The crowds shut down the street as they celebrated.

“I was jumping off my couch doing backflips,” said John Ziomek.

The Celtics won in the last second of the game as Derrick White tapped the ball in just before the buzzer.

“You’re thinking it’s in and out and all of a sudden, split second, it’s back in, you’re unsure, you’re waiting for the replay, but as soon as they showed the first look, the ball was out of his hands like we were going nuts,” said Matt Elkin.

After an incredible win and an emotional rollercoaster for fans, it’s on to Game 7 in Boston Monday night.

So how much do you have to pay to see Game 7 in person?

As of Sunday night, the cheapest tickets were going for about $800 on Ticketmaster.

“I know people who paid twice or three times as much to go to the Taylor Swift concert,” said Elkin.

Most fans tell us the price tag is worth it for the chance to see the Celtics win and head to the NBA finals especially back home at the Garden.

“The energy in there is going to be amazing, like it’s well worth the money to get to see a Game 7,” said Elkin.
