Braintree Police investigating armed robbery from weekend

BRAINTREE, Mass. — Police in Braintree are investigating an alleged armed robbery that took place in the town Saturday evening, according to a press release. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of a Hyatt Hotel on 50 Forbes Rd.

Two victims claim that they were robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot after arriving there to complete what police called an “online transaction” with another individual. Instead, a car with three men inside entered the parking lot. Two suspects emerged from the car and allegedly robbed the victims, pistol-whipping them in the process.

Those victims apparently pursued the suspects' car on I-93 North, where one of the suspects allegedly shot at the victims' car. Police said that the bullet did not appear to hit the car, however. Both victims declined to be taken to the hospital.

The suspects' car was located in Boston, however police have not announced if they have located the suspects themselves yet.
