BOSTON — A Thanksgiving day wake-up call like no other as a driver woke up an entire neighborhood by crashing into their cars.
A car speeding through Chesterton Street crashed into five parked cars.
“He stopped over there,” said witness George Medina. “I heard somebody get out of the car so I looked. She got out of the car and then he came down this way and crashed into everything.”
“It was just an insane event. It hit my neighbor’s car flipped over my neighbor’s car sent it to another one in front of it, deflected off of my mother’s car here scraped off the side of my car and it landed where my car is here,” said Eric Samayoa who just bought his car a few weeks ago.
However, the driver didn’t care about that. Moments after the crash, that driver flees the upside-down car and takes off just seconds before the neighbors come outside.
In the video, you could hear neighbors yelling “Who is in there? Are you all right? Somebody call 911!”
It takes those neighbors another second to realize the driver took off but it didn’t’ take neighbors long to figure out what may have caused this.
“They ended up dragging the car further down the street to be able to pivot it and flip it over and all of a sudden all this booze and random bottles comes falling out of the side passenger side window and they just start scooping it up with a shovel and toss in the back of the car and getting it on the flatbed it,” said Eric Samayoa. “It was like a whole little movie scene.”
A movie that woke them up at 4:oo a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
“I’m glad it happened on Thanksgiving,” said Medina. “Nobody was out and nobody else got hurt.”
BPD says they have identified and summonsed the driver who will now face reckless operation of a motor vehicle charge.
