Boston PD arrested man in connection with stabbing 68-year-old woman in Roxbury

BOSTON — After a weeklong search, Boston Police arrested a man Thursday night for an assault on a 68-year-old Roxbury woman.

Ranlee Flores, 34, of Roxbury was arrested Thursday night in the area of 112 Southampton Street on several outstanding warrants.

Police were later able to connect him to the assault and stabbing of that Roxbury woman.

After an investigation, Flores was charged in connection with an aggravated assault on a 68-year-old woman on December 8th as she was unloading groceries from her vehicle on Deckard Street. After talking for a little, Flores then struck the woman on the back of her head with an object, according to police.

The woman fought back by striking the suspect with her fists while kicking and screaming for help. As a result, the suspect fled the area on foot. During the incident, the woman sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound to her chest, but she is not sure at what point during the incident this stab wound occurred.

Flores will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on a charge of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon on a person over the age of 65.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
