BOSTON — The Boston Harborfest fireworks display still went on Saturday night despite the downpours.
They started early around 9 p.m. and lasted about 20 minutes by the Boston Harbor.
Dozens of people still gathered in the rain to come see them.
Other events have been canceled this holiday weekend, but families were still excited that the fireworks went on as scheduled especially after everything was canceled for the holiday last year because of the pandemic.
One couple came prepared with ponchos and chairs to enjoy the show even in the rain.
“We knew about it we saw it on Facebook and we saw a bunch of people weren’t going to be going, so we were like whatever it’s just better for us, better seats and it won’t be too crowded,” said Emmy Berkery. “And it’s better because then with the pandemic you don’t have to worry about it.”
