Boston to D.C. flight returns to Logan after striking bird, airline says

BOSTON — A Republic Airways flight from Boston to Washington D.C. had to return to Logan Airport on Wednesday after striking a bird, American Airlines confirmed to Boston 25 News.

That flight, identified as American Eagle flight 4696, landed safely and is currently being evaluated by maintenance crews. There were no reported injuries.

“We never want to disrupt our customers’ travel plans and our team is working to get them to their final destinations as soon as possible,” American Airlines said in a statement Wednesday night.
