Authorities investigating after human remains wash ashore at beachfront resort on Cape Cod

BREWSTER, Mass. — An investigation is underway after human remains washed ashore at a beachfront resort on Cape Cod over the weekend, authorities announced Wednesday.

Officers responding to the Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in Brewster on Saturday found partial human remains that had washed up on shore, according to the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office.

In a statement, the DA’s office said, “Preliminary indications suggest the body had been in the water for a considerable amount of time.”

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is now working to make a positive identification.

There were no additional details immediately available.

State police detectives assigned to the DA’s office are assisting Brewster police with the investigation.
