3 men arrested in connection to breaking and entering into yacht at Rowes Wharf in Boston

BOSTON — Three male suspects are facing charges for allegedly being involved in a breaking and entering incident at Rowes Wharf in Boston early Monday morning.

The Boston Police Department told Boston 25 News officers arrested three suspects in connection to a breaking and entering incident in the area of 50 Rowes Wharf in Boston. During the call, officers were told three males allegedly entered a secured wharf and climbed aboard a large ship.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they observed two suspects, Zachary Whiting, 19, of Bridgewater, and Lawrence Kirlis, 18, of Bridgewater, standing at the bow of a 97-foot-long yacht. This prompted the officers to deliver verbal commands to both suspects to return to the dock before attempting to gain control of them. But the officers were interrupted by a splashing noise in the water on the opposite side of the vessel.

Officers found a third suspect, Ryan Convery, 19, of Bridgewater, struggling in the water approximately twenty feet away from the dock. Convery was coughing while attempting to stay above the water. He told officers he was cold and could not swim.

Officers directed Convery to grab a nearby rope, which they used to pull him back towards the dock before lifting him out of the water to safety. Officers offered first aid to Convery before he was treated by Boston EMS at the scene. He was transported to a nearby hospital and was later arrested after being released from the hospital.

Whiting and Kirlis were both arrested at the scene. During Whiting’s arrest, officers say they found a large bottle of vodka inside his hooded sweatshirt. All three suspects are expected to appear in Boston Municipal Court on charges of breaking and entering, and additionally, Whiting is facing charges for possession of alcohol by a minor.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
