HAVERHILL, Mass. — Massachusetts State Police are investigating a fatal crash on I-495 South in Haverhill early Friday morning.
It happened shortly after 3 a.m. near Exit 111.
State Police said 21-year-old Sebastian Hidalgo of Haverhill was driving north on the southbound side of 495 when he collided with a tanker truck.
The truck driver was not injured.
Just after 7:30 a.m., all lanes have been opened to traffic and detours have been removed. Drivers should still expect delays.
State Police collision reconstruction, crime scene and commercial vehicle units were all on-scene.
The Medical Examiner and Haverhill Fire were also at the crash site.
