2 people arrested in connection to Bridgewater stabbing on Christmas Eve

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — A man and a woman, both from Bridgewater, were arrested in connection to a stabbing in the town, police announced on Saturday afternoon. That alleged incident occurred on Christmas Eve on Main Street in Bridgewater.

Police were called to the scene of 180 Main St. in Bridgewater Thursday night around 7:15 p.m. There, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds in the lower back at the Kingswood Park Village. That man was later transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton with serious injuries that police said are not considered to be life-threatening.

The victim also alleged that the man and woman who had stabbed him also stole his cellphone and backpack, law enforcement said.

On Saturday, police announced that they had arrested Eric Wise, 36, and Molly Flaherty, 33, in connection to the stabbing. Both Wise and Flaherty have been charged with the following:

  • Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
  • Assault with intent to murder
  • Unarmed robbery
  • Assault with intent to commit a felony

Both will be arraigned Monday in Brockton District Court. Currently, Wise is being held on $30,000 bail while Flaherty is being held on $20,000 bail.
