1 person shot, critically injured in Dorchester

BOSTON — One person has life-threatening injuries after a shooting on Ellington Street in Dorchester Sunday night, officials said.

Police responded to reports of a person shot on Ellington Street, near the Franklin Park Zoo, around 9:12 p.m., according to Boston police. Police were seen investigating a car on Blue Hill Avenue, near Ellington Street, that appeared to have been shot at.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and as of early Monday morning, remained in critical condition.

Police have not released any information on potential suspects or arrests.

Boston police continue to investigate.
