Littleton man has life-threatening injuries after 88-year-old driver hits him

LITTLETON, Mass. — A 41-year-old man suffered serious, life-threatening injuries after being hit by an SUV Sunday night in Littleton.

Police said he was trying to cross Ayer Road near Willow Road around 5 p.m. when an 88-year-old Ayer man hit him. Police said the driver stopped and cooperated with them.

Littleton Fire paramedics treated the pedestrian at the scene for serious, visible injuries. He was brought to an Ayer-area hospital and then transferred to a Worcester-area hospital.

The driver was brought to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Ayer Road was closed for roughly two hours in both directions.
