NEWTON, Mass. — There are at least six different protests planned for Sunday, including a bike ride in Newton at 8 a.m. All proceeds will go to Black Lives Matter.
On Saturday, counter protesters lined Beacon Street in Boston near the State House. The group “Happy Fun America,” creators of the straight Pride parade, said that they were there to support police. The other group was protesting police brutality.
Although there were a few scuffles with people jumping barricades and others being escorted out, the day remained mostly peaceful with each side advocating for their cause.
