“When you saw a Geils concert, usually by the end of it you couldn't even talk anymore because you lost your voice, can't clap, the band would always beat you,” WZLX DJ Carter Alan said.

J. Geils Band singer Peter Wolf posted a tribute on Facebook saying, "Thinking of all the times we kicked it high and rocked down the house. R.I.P. Jay Geils."

Police said the death does not appear suspicious, but they are investigating the exact cause of death.
