Hundreds volunteer in packaging 6,500 medically tailored meals and Thanksgiving dinners

BOSTON — Just one day away until Thanksgiving and community members are coming together in the spirit of giving back. Wednesday morning nearly 100 volunteers helped the nonprofit Community Servings package nearly 6,500 medically tailored meals, including hundreds of delicious Thanksgiving dinners.

All of these meals are being delivered ahead of the holiday to individuals living with critical and chronic illnesses in the Greater Boston area.

Community Servings’ mission is to actively engage the community to provide scratch-made medically tailored meals to individuals and their families experiencing critical or chronic illness and nutrition insecurity.

Each weekly meal bag goes to 645 clients containing their made-from-scratch meals which are customized to meet the nutritional and medical needs of our clients who are fighting illnesses like HIV/AIDS, diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, and many others.

They deliver these meals to clients across Massachusetts and have the resources to deliver meals that are outside their area.

This service provides meals for the client and all family members including caregivers.
