Hooksett Police searching for two men who assaulted a man

HOOKSETT, N.H. — Police in Hooksett, New Hampshire are currently searching for two people they say assaulted a man at his home.

Officers were dispatched to 30 Julia Drive just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday for reports of an assault. At the scene, the victim, a 31-year-old man, said he was leaving his house when he was confronted by two men, one who had been carrying a large, assault-style weapon.

The suspect with the weapon hit the victim in the head with the gun and punched him while both men tried forcing the victim back into his home. The victim was able to escape and call police.

One suspect was described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic man while the other suspect was covering his face. Police believe they had been driving a light-colored SUV, similar to a Toyota RAV4.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police are reviewing video surveillance of the assault and actively searching for the suspects. It is unclear if the attack was random, but police say it appears the suspects targeted that specific house. As a precautionary measure, they will be increasing patrols in the area.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Hooksett Police at 603-624-1560.
