Heroin, cocaine, handgun confiscated in Springfield drug bust

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police say they arrested four suspected heroin dealers on Wednesday after carrying out a drug raid on Pendleton Ave.

After conducting an investigation, officers raided the home at 11:00 a.m. and say they had to force the doors open because lookouts had warned the suspected dealers of their arrival. Police were able to enter the home and arrest 50-year-old Myra Aguilar, 33-year-old Jorge Gonzalez-Montijo, 34-yer-old Ismarie Rodriguez, and 38-year-old Jorge Mercado.

During the raid, detectives found 96 grams of heroin, which has a street value over $10,000, along with 7 grams of packaged cocaine, $16,450 in cash, a .380 caliber handgun hidden in a child's backpack, bullets, an electric stun gun, and packaging material with scales and drug paraphernalia.

All four suspects were charged with trafficking heroin, drug possession and firearm possession, among other charges.

Springfield Police say drug dealers should take notice of the arrest. "If you deal in the City of Springfield in 2015, plan on a change of residence," the police report read. "Otherwise, we will give you a place to stay."
