The ban pertains to competitions for public and private schools and youth hockey leagues and will last at least until January 31, 2021.
It will not impact interstate collegiate, professional, or U.S. national team hockey events and activities which will remain subject to health and safety protocols.
The states previously announced a regional suspension through December 31, 2020 due to coronavirus outbreaks associated with youth hockey activities.
In October, the DPH issued a public order prohibiting indoor ice rinks and ice skating facilities.
