Lexington teen donates PPE to local hospitals

LEXINGTON, Mass. — A major hey thanks to a Lexington high school student who used her time during this crisis to help others in a big way. As COVID-19 cases began to ramp up, 17-year old Audrey Ferrell saw the massive local need for PPE.

She launched an online campaign and raised more than $45,000. Audrey said she knew it was the right thing to do.

“When you go to the back of the hospital, or wherever you drop it off, they are so grateful and they need it so bad, you can see it in their face,” Ferrell said.

The money went to help the Boston Medical Center acquire tens of thousands of N95 masks and several other hospitals purchase invaluable PPE for frontline healthcare workers.
