BOSTON — Gov. Charlie Baker met with White House coronavirus response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx at the State House Friday afternoon, after Birx met in Cambridge with a group of college presidents.
Birx was visiting the Broad Institute on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a roundtable discussion with college and university presidents from Massachusetts.
The visit was a part of Birx’s tour of college campuses. She was in Hartford on Thursday where she met with Gov. Ned Lamont and toured the city campus of the University of Connecticut.
Baker’s office said he planned to meet with Birx after her visit to Boston University where she hoped to learn more about college testing protocols in Massachusetts.
Birx held a media availability after the Broad Institute event. The governor’s office said it did not anticipate the two being available for questions after their meeting.
