Gronk shaves his head for One Mission event

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Rob Gronkowksi was back at Gillette Stadium Sunday, but not for football. The now-retired tight end got all of his hair buzzed off for a great cause.

Gronkowski shaved his head as part of One Mission's Buzz Off for Kids with Cancer Event at Gillette Stadium. It's the ninth straight year the Super Bowl champ has gotten his hair buzzed.

"Seeing all the kids, all their families, seeing their brothers come out, seeing their friends come out, seeing kids that don't even have cancer, but they're supporting their friends buzzing off their head, too," Gronkowski said. “It's something cool and something I’ll always be a part of."

This is the 10th year for the annual buzz-off. To date, the charity has raised $10 million and shaved more than 10,000 heads all to support kids fighting cancer.

"I know not a lot of people have red hair and I figured some kid would love to have a long red wig, and it was really long," said Connor Parker of West Brookfield.

Proceeds will fund One Mission programs at Boston Children's Hospital, Dana Farber and Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence.
