GLOUCESTER, Mass. — A two alarm fire in Gloucester destroyed a beach house Saturday night.
The Gloucester Fire Department said the fire occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Penny Lane, and the house was fully in flames when firefighters arrived. The department deemed the house a total loss.
The house's location made it tough for firefighters dealing with the water supply, with the home sitting at the end of a long, narrow road.
The multi-million dollar house appeared to be under renovation, with a construction vehicle and dumpster on site.
Steve DiFillippo, owner of Davio's, is a co-owner of the home, and said he found out about the fire around 9 a.m. Sunday.
A few firefighters suffered minor injuries from the fire, but no one needed to be transported to the hospital.
